Getting a haircut

171003  – “How can I help you today?” “I would like a wash, cut, and dry (or style).

 (If you want your hair to be dried and styled before you leave the salon, you will want to ask for that.)

171004  - “What are you looking to do today?” “I would like to get a perm.”

(This is a treatment that makes the hair curly)

171006  – “What do you want me to do to your hair today?” “I would like to have my hair straightened.

(This is a treatment that makes curly hair straight.)

171009  – “How can I help you today?” “I would like to have my hair dyed or coloured.” 

(This involves changing the colour of one’s hair.)

171010  - “How can I help you today?” “I would like you to cut bangs.”

(This is a haircut with short hair across the forehead. This term is used for women’s hair only.)

171011  – “What do you want me to do to your hair today?” “I would like a buzz cut.”

(This is when hair is shaved very short. This term is used primarily for men’s cuts.)

171012  – “What are you looking for today?” “I would like to have a hairstyle with layers.”

(This is when hair is cut in many different lengths.)

171013  – “How can I help you today?” “I would like you to chop it all off.”

(Chop is another word for cut. This is a request to cut off all of one’s hair and make it very short.)
